Shortly after graduating from high school, Bill joined the United States Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he began a lifelong career in transportation management, retiring from Drug Transport Incorporated in 2008.
Bill was born in Garden City, Michigan, to the late Bill and Peggy Lee. He was a tried-and-true UGA fan and an avid bass fisherman. Bill was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a 40-year member of Liberty United Methodist Church and spent several years volunteering at Daybreak in Macon, Georgia. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Joe.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 50 years, Becky, and their children, Jeff and Michelle Lee, Todd and Cynthia Alligood, and Ben and Stacy Lee. Bill deeply loved his grandchildren, Ashlyn Alligood, Anna Huff, Jacob Lee, Wick Lee, Zeke Lee, and Jonah Lee. In addition, he is survived by his sister, Shirley Parker, his brothers and sisters-in-law, Derrell and Leslie Parker, Dave and Cindy Russell, and several nephews and nieces.
On Saturday, June 29th, 2024, Bill's celebration of life service will be held at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Bass Road, Macon, Georgia, officiated by Rev. Ben Lee. The family will begin receiving visitors at 2:00 p.m., and the service will start at 3:00 p.m.
