William Robert “Bobby” Hartley, 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, June 9, 2016. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, June 12, 2016 at 2:00pm at First Evangelical Church with Rev. Tim Long officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends Saturday night from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Evangelical Church, 3601 Fulton Mill Rd., Macon, 31206.
Mr. Hartley was born in Crawford County, Georgia to the late Leon Greene Hartley, Sr. and Elizabeth Hartness Hartley and was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. He retired in 1983 from Bellsouth as a District Supervisor and was a member of First Evangelical Church and the Believing Crusaders Sunday School Class. Mr. Hartley was in the Golden Heirs Senior Group and the Telephone Pioneers. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mary “Pat” Bailey Hartley; children, Harriet (Dave) Slater, Lynn (Rodger) Bryson, William (Debbie) Hartley, Jr. and Patti (Darrell) Dominy of Martinez; nine grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
