Walter Elwood Hurley

Walter "Walt" Elwood Hurley, 70, of Macon, Georgia passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024. Memorial services will be held 11:00am, Thursday, November 14, 2024, in the chapel of Snow's Memorial Chapel at Bass Road.

Walt was born February 3, 1954, in Wiesbaden, Germany to the late Elwood Hurley and Josephine Peacock Hurley and was preceded in death by a sister: Julien O'Connell. He was a retired Probation Officer for the State of Georgia with over twenty-eight years of service in various state departments. Walt loved music and tending to his yard. He also found enjoyment in tinkering with cars as a "shade tree" mechanic.

Walt is survived by his daughters: Ashley Wooley (Mark) and Danielle Hurley (Joshua Marcy); son: Christopher Veddern (Lezlie); grandchildren: Zack Veddern, Zane Veddern, Connor Wooley, Haylee Wooley, Carson Wooley and Parker Marcy; sister: Nancy Hurley Harris (Frank); brother-in-law: Robert O'Connell; nieces: Cheryl Harris and Cathleen O'Connell.
