Sybil NeSmith Rogers, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, September 1, 2016 after an extended illness with heart and kidney failure. A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Joe McDaniel and Rev. Ed Chambless officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rogers was born in Empire, Georgia to the late James and Lula Fair NeSmith and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Rogers, Sr. and two sisters, Mattie Roland and Dell Holt. She was a member of Mabel White Baptist Church and attended Mikado Baptist Church, where she was active in the Glowing Years Program. Mrs. Rogers was a hairdresser for many years and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Survivors include her son, Robert L. Rogers, Jr. (Lenora); grandson, Robert C. “Rocky” Rogers (Allison); sisters, Shirley Reeves and Helen Law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
