Rebecca (Becky) Sparks Little, 75, passed peacefully away on Saturday, July 8, 2023, surrounded by her family who will miss her dearly. A celebration of life will be held on St. Simons Island at a later date.
Becky was born to the late Walter Dallis Sparks and Rebecca Mavis Ozley Sparks Karr. She graduated from Miller High School before attending Andrew College to study studio art. It was during high school that Becky met the love of her life, the late Edmund Wallace (Wally) Little III, and they shared 51 years of marriage, two children, two grandchildren, and a lifetime’s worth of love.
A devoted mother and Gam Gam, Becky was a remarkable cook and delighted in preparing meals for her family, especially during holidays and family birthdays. Her kitchen was often filled with sweet and savory treats. She made each holiday and birthday special for everyone around her. A lover of animals, Becky often provided medical care for stray cats and dogs at her own expense. Another passion of hers was gardening, and she had a true green thumb. Becky could often be found in her greenhouse or in the yard caring for her plants and flowers.
Becky is survived by her two children, Katherine Bowen and Sandra Little-Herring (Chase), her granddaughter, Claire Bowen, her grandson, Mason Herring, her brother John Sparks (Linda), nephews Jacob Sparks and Stephen Sparks (Jennifer), niece, Julie Doughty (Jon), and numerous close friends.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Atrium Health Navicent for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
Becky’s family asks that In lieu of flowers, donations be made in her honor to Rock on Rescue, Inc. of Middle Georgia to help make a difference in the lives of local dogs and cats or to Navicent Health Foundation.
