Macon – Rachel Viola Cardin Dye passed away April 12, 2011. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday April 16, 2011 in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Billy Abney and Rev. Eddie Webb will be officiating.
Mrs. Dye was born in Cleveland, TN to the late Tom Cardin and Agnes Swanson Cardin. She was retired from Robins Air Force. Mrs. Dye was a member of Midway Baptist Church and was a volunteer with the Girl Scouts and Redding Elementary. She is preceded in death by her husband Julian Scott; grandson, Robert Scott; brothers, Harold Lee Cardin, Robert Cardin, and Bill Cardin; sister, Frankie Wilkerson.
Survivors include her husband Edward Dye; children, Jimmy Russell of Macon, Jane (Homer L.) Haygood of Forsyth, Tommy (Mary) Scott of Forsyth, Alice (Kenneth) Couch of Macon and Julie Scott of Macon; Brothers, Jim (Betty) Cardin of Rome and E.J. (Betty) Cardin of Rome; 16 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Friday evening at the funeral home.
