Milton Lumpkin, 76, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday at Lizella Baptist Church with burial private for the family in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Shannon Back and the Rev. Chris Minton will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Saturday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue and from 2 p.m. to service time on Sunday in the Fellowship Hall, Lizella Baptist Church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Lizella Baptist Church Library Fund, 2950 South Lizella Road, Lizella 31052.
Mr. Lumpkin, son of the late Fulton and Fonda Harris Lumpkin, was born in Poulan, GA and was a graduate of Sycamore High School. He was a production supervisor with Armstrong World Industries, retiring after forty years service. Mr. Lumpkin was a member of Lizella Baptist Church where he was active in all aspects of the life of his church serving as a Deacon, a member of Faith Bible Class, and as an usher and a greeter. He was also a member of Gideon’s International. Mr. Lumpkin was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. Most of all, he loved brightening the lives of all those around him.
Survivors include the family he adored, his wife of fifty-five years, Dorrie H. Lumpkin of Lizella; his sons, James (Dawn) Lumpkin of Macon, Mark (Denise) Lumpkin of Gray and Michael (Jackie) Lumpkin of Kennesaw; six beloved grandchildren, Sidney and Saige Lumpkin, Rachel Lumpkin, Cassidy, Kalea and Cade Milton Lumpkin.
