Mary Jo Boone Purser

Mary Jo Boone Purser, 88, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Kim Washburn officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Entombment will be in the Veterans Mausoleum of Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greenwood Baptist Church, 3400 Gray Highway, Gray GA 31032 or the Rhonda P. Wood Scholarship Fund, GCSU, Campus Box 96, Milledgeville GA 31061.

Mary Jo was born in Dublin, GA to Calhoun and Orene Thompson Boone. She was preceded in death by her siblings, JC Boone, Iola Dewberry, Buford Boone, Delphia Glenn, Ruby Wasden, Nell Tucker, Thelma Leslie and Tony Boone. She was the Test Coordinator at Macon State College. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and aunt.

She is survived by her children, Robbie (Amy) Purser, Rhonda (George) Wood, grandchildren, Rob (Haleigh) Purser, Ryan Purser, Robby Wood and Teri (Trent) Bailey, eight great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren, grand dog Marley, and special niece, Carolyn Chapman.
