Macie Lee Smith

Macie Ussery Smith, 93, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024 in the chapel of Snow’s at Macon Memorial park at 2:00 pm with Pastor Paul Dziadul officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 pm until service time.

Macie was the daughter of the late Hanceford Jackson and Polly Ann Ussery. Macie was a nurturer for her family and dearly loved! In her later years, she worked as a caregiver for others. She took such good care of her patients that families would buy out her contracts so that she took care of their loved ones only.

The caregivers that took care of her for the past few years loved her and spoke often of how kind she was to everyone and her sharp wit. Macie was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Ms. Smith was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Ms. Smith is survived by her children, Patricia McLaughlin (Marley), Deborah Hurst, Eddie Lee Smith Jr. (Deb), William Mark Smith (Siena); sister, Bernice Clark; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
