Lynette Sessions Young, 80, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024. A reception to remember Lyn will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the 1842 Inn at 353 College Street in Macon. Lyn was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Rev. Edward Reed and Ora Lynette Yandle Sessions. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Wingfield Young in 1996 and her two brothers, Edward Sessions III and Randy Sessions. Lyn was a graduate of Columbus High School and graduated with a Master’s from Emory University in 1965 with a degree in Library Science and was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.
Lyn was owner of Sessions and Young Travel Agency, which she started with her mother in 1974, and her travel was a passion of Lyn and she also enjoyed kayaking and golf. In her retirement, she began working as a librarian again at Central Georgia Technical College. She was a lifelong avid reader.
She is survived by her son, Travis Young (wife Sue Hobby) of Telluride Colorado, her sister, Elaine Toney (husband Billy) of Lake Martin Alabama, her nieces and nephews, Shannon Bamberg, Eric Sessions, Kelly Sessions, Rebekah Claire Miller, and Lindsay Mendoza, as well as several grand nieces and nephews.
