Louis Francis Johnston

Louis Francis Johnston, 95, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Christopher Awiliba officiating. Burial will be held at the Georgia Veterans Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia. A Rosary will be said at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry St.

Louis was born in Macon, Georgia to the late James Reddick and Olga Cassini Johnston. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary G. Johnston. He served in the United States Marines during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of Marine Corps League Det. 970, the American Legion and Marion Road Gun Club. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.

He is survived by his children, Laura (Mike) Mitchell of Panama City Beach, FL, John R. (Cindy) Johnston of Quakertown, PA, Joseph (Elsa) Johnston of Dallas, TX, and Anne (Jorge) Barnard of Wilsonville, AL, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, a brother and four sisters and several nieces and nephews.
