John Murray Collins, 77, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 29, 2015 after an extended illness. A graveside service will be held in Fredonia Cemetery in Manchester, TN on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. The family will greet friends on Friday, January 30, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon GA 31210.
Mr. Collins was born in Indianapolis, IN to the late John Richard and Dorothy Z. Hudson Collins. He was a Vice President and Owner of Sizemore Security. Mr. Collins was a former member of Shurlington Baptist Church and a member of Greenwood Baptist Church. He was a member of the Downtown Rotary Club, served on the Board of Macon Cherry Blossom Festival and was a member of the American Business Club. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.

He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty eight years, Ida Lou Collins of Macon, children; Kim (Larry) Toole of Macon, Kelly (Mike) Tyler of Milledgeville, Zane Collins (Michael Wentz) of Jacksonville, Konnie (Freddie) Dekle of Gray, Layla Aldaco of Perry, twelve grandchildren, six great grandchildren, sister, Cherry Harding, and brother, Anthony Collins and several nieces and nephews.
