Capt. Jimmy Moore, 89, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Bass Road with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Tim Long will officiate.
Jimmy was born in Macon the son of the late Evelyn Bates Moore and James L. Moore, Sr. He was preceded in death by his wives, Wilma Jean Williams Moore and Wilda Brown Moore and his daughter, Cynthia Ree Eubanks, and a brother, Bobby Moore. He was a retired Captain of the Macon – Bibb Fire Department after 28 years of service and was also retired from Southern Railway. Jimmy attended First Evangelical Church, was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies, and member and Past Grand Patron of the Order of Eastern Star.
Jimmy is survived by his children, Barbara Kay Shelton and James Lawrence Moore, III; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; sister, Charlotte Willis.
