Jerry Steven Ellison

Jerry Steven Ellison, 74, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at a local hospital.The family will observe Shiva, Friday, December 15, 2023 and Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the residence. Services will be private.

Mr. Ellison was born June 28,1949, in Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of the late Sidney Ellison and Faye Weintroub Ellison. Mr. Ellison was of the Jewish faith and served as a police officer for many years,with several departments including the New York Police Department as well as most recently the Jones County Sheriff's Department. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Police and the Elk's Lodge of Lakeland, Florida. Mr. Ellison loved sports, cars and the New York Yankees. He was a piddler, always seeming to have a project or two in the works. Mr. Ellison was preceded in death by his first wife: Peggy Ellison and a son: Cliff Ellison.

Mr. Ellison is survived by his wife of ten years: Monica Ellison; children: Taylor Ellison Mansito (Anyer) and Bailey Ellison; grandchildren: Alexus Thiel (Trent), James Ellison (Jordan) and Sydney Jackson; great-grandchildren: Tristan, Charli and Drew and by a brother: Bernard Ellison (Ann Marie).
