A visitation for George will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3969 Mercer University Drive, Macon, Georgia 31204. Following the visitation will be a private graveside at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, 7070 Houston Road, Macon, GA 31216. Pastor Ed Chambless will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210.
Mr. Finch was born in Montgomery County, Georgia the son of the late Lucille K. and James Albert Finch and was preceded by his first wife, Sharon Finch Arnold and then his second wife, Becky Helmuth Finch and his brothers, Darwin and Wayne Finch. After moving to Macon around 1969 he became employed by Standard Oil Company and then retired. Later he went into business for himself called Finch Enterprise. Currently he was employed by Truck and Trailer of Macon. He enjoyed the outdoors with his sons and especially hunting.
Mr. Finch is survived by his children, Deborah Lowery of Macon, Sheila Finch Gordon (Mark) of Macon, Michael Alan Finch of Macon, and Curtis James Finch (Pam) of Macon; grandchildren, Tanner Gordon (Christa), Kenneth Lowery, Jr. (Kelly), Ashley Lowery, and Valerie Chambers; great-grandchildren, Case, Cooper Lowery and Matthew Harnage, Taylor and Reid Foskey; sister, Jean Finch of Vidalia.
