Gary Eugene Livesay, 59, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 26, 2012. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Gilead Baptist Church with Pastor Craig Holmes. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be Saturday, September 1, 2012 in Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, KY. They ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Gilead Baptist Church, 4800 Ivey Drive, Macon, GA 31206.
Mr. Livesay, son of the late Francis Eugene Livesay, was born in Louisville, KY and earned his Master’s Degree in Engineering. He served with the U. S. Air Force and was retired from Robins Air Force Base. Mr. Livesay was a member of Gilead Baptist Church where he served as Choir Director and was a member of the Auditorium Sunday School Class. Mr. Livesay was a former member of Beth Haven Baptist Church in Louisville. He loved bagpipes, hiking the Appalachian Trail and was forever an avid University of Kentucky Sports fan.
A devoted son, husband, father, brother and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Carolyn Sue Livesay of Lizella; his daughter, Brandy Rene (Joe) Hicks of Warwick, RI; his grandson, Paul Eugene Hicks of Warwick, RI; his mother, Juanita H. Livesay of Louisville, KY, sister, Denise (Donald) Young of Louisville, KY and his nephews, Matt and Corey.
