MACON – Emma Jean Wright, 89, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Cross Keys United Methodist Church, with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Reverends Lee Bennett and Paul Best will officiate. The family will meet friends at 1:00 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Wright was the daughter of Claude and Josephine Mahan. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Carl D. Wright, and by her siblings, Johnny Mahan, Victor Mahan, and Jo Ellen McGuire. She was a graduate of Butler (Missouri) High School and Central Missouri State University, where she was class salutatorian. Mrs. Wright was a Macon-area high school teacher for 30 years and an active member of Cross Keys United Methodist Church. All who knew Emma Jean, especially her family, loved her very much.
Survivors include her children, Mary Jean Wright of Marietta, GA; John (Mark Burton) Wright of Dallas, TX; Hal Wright of Marietta, GA; and Paul (Frankie) Wright of Tucker, GA.
