Ella "Geri" Baldwin, 72, passed away Friday, November 2, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Marty Watson will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 - 8 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home. They suggest that those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hospice Care Options, 1125 Walnut Street, Macon 31201.
Mrs. Baldwin, daughter of the late George Roy and Violet Beatrice Hatfield Perry, was born in Logan, West Virginia and was a descendant of the renowned Hatfields. She was a nurse's assistant providing home health care with Rest Care and Angels of Mercy. Mrs. Baldwin was preceded in death in 2004 by her grandson, Bubba McCarty. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and was a member of Faith Chapel, Cordele.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Baldwin of Macon; her daughters, Karen (J.J.) McCarty of Fitzgerald and Ginger Day of Macon; her son, Robert James Baldwin of Summit, MS; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; her sisters, Janie Spangler, Bonnie Fowler and Donnie Pennington, all of Logan, WV; her brother, Gary Perry of Logan, WV and several nieces and nephews.
