Elizabeth "Betty" Morgan, 88, passed away peacefully at her home May 17, 2021. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday at Forest Hills United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM. Dr. Baxter Hurley and Rev. Teresa Edwards will officiate. Burial will be private for family only in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Forest Hills United Methodist Church, 1217 Forest Hill Road, Macon 31210 or The Methodist Home for Children & Youth, 304 Pierce Avenue, Macon 31204.
Mrs. Morgan was born in Macon the daughter of the late Marion Young Bussey and Nelle Pauline Muecke Bussey. She was preceded in death by her three husbands, Jack O. Gladney, Edwin J. Odom and Charles C. Morgan and her sister, Jean B. Spear.
Betty is survived by her children, Shirley G. Douthit (Randall), Michael J. Gladney (Jo) and Paula Stewart; grandchildren, Norris W. Wallace, IV, Laura W. McGreggor, Jennifer G. Kellner, Lori G. Harwell, Erica G. Ginn, Beau Stewart, and Brooke Stewart; great-grandchildren, Ava Wallace, Dalton McGreggor, Elizabeth McGreggor, Ethan Kellner and Braxton Ginn; brother, William Bussey.
Mrs. Morgan was a member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church and the Grace Bible Class. She was a loyal member of the Chancel Choir and Singing Saints Choir. Betty was a former member of Centenary United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Chancel Choir and served as Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees, Chair of the Music Committee and Chair of the Worship Committee. She was a former member of the Idle Hour Ladies Golf Association and Riverside Ladies Golf Association and was a member of the MWBA since 1962.
The family would like to thank Mrs. Morgan's caregiver, Emily "Niecy" Wright, and Pine Pointe Hospice for the gentle care of their Mom.
