A celebration of life for DJ will be held Friday, October 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3969 Mercer University Drive, Macon, Georgia 31204, followed by a visitation. Pastor Jeff Grist will officiate. Burial will be private in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in DJ's memory may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, Georgia 31210.
DJ was born on November 16, 1949 the son of the late Evelyn Playhe Brown and William Chester Brown. He was a former surveyor with Donaldson Garrett and Associates and was a United States Air Force veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He received many awards including a DFC. After his military service he played lead guitar and sang with bands. While playing the guitar, he loved to sway to the beat of the music and then stand on his tiptoes to reach those higher notes. DJ was an avid sport fan, loving football, especially the Florida Gators and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also enjoyed NASCAR and was a big Dale Earnhardt fan.
DJ is survived by his wife of 33 years, Debbie Brown; son, Adrian L. Brown (Melissa) of Wisconsin; 3 grandchildren; sister, Dawn Brown Giddens (John) of Florida; several nieces and nephews.
