Cynthia was born in Emmanuel County to the late E. Monroe and Leila Henry on April 17, 1932 and was preceded in death by her siblings, Geneva, Laura Cina and Jim. She was the oldest of seven children. In 1954 she married the love of her life, Carl Roby, Jr. They were married almost 60 years until his death in 2013. They were blessed with two daughters.
She was a long-time member of Highlands Hill Baptist Church where she cherished her friends in her Sunday School class. She was also a long-time member of the Vineville Garden Club.
She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Roby McRae (Doug) of Atlanta and Lisa Roby Howell (Hubie) of Senoia. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Rebecca McRae Goepp (Eddie) and Douglas Wales McRae, Jr. (Laura) both of Atlanta, and five great grandchildren.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at 11:45 AM Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private for family only in Riverside Cemetery (North Gate). Rev. Cass DuCharme will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks to consider donations in Cynthia’s memory to The Emory Brain Institute or to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to all the staff at Delmar Gardens in Smyrna where she resided for the past nine years. From maintenance to management, they all loved “their sweet little lady from Macon”.
