Cora Louise Simmons

MACON – Cora Louise Simmons, 91, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2012. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Rob Robinson will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice Care Options, 486 New Street, Macon, GA 31201. The family may be contacted at the residence of Iris Simmons, 116 Arlington Row, Macon, 31210.

Mrs. Simmons, the daughter of the late Marcus B. Folsom and Ada Jones Folsom, was born in Macon and had lived here for most of her life. She was a retired clerk from Chi Chesters Baconsfield and was a member of the Thomaston Road Church of Christ. She was the widow of James Buren Simmons, Sr. and was preceded in death by her sons, James B. Simmons, Jr. and Roger Mark Simmons, Sr.

Mrs. Simmons is survived by her daughter, Janice Simmons (John) Cummings of Richmond, VA; daughter-in-law, Iris Simmons of Macon; grandchildren, Mark (Jaime) Simmons, Matthew (Mary Jo) Simmons, Thomas (Mamie) Simmons, Carla (Tim) Thompson and John (Cameron) Cummings, Jr.; 7 great-grandchildren.
