Charles Wendell Morris, 88, of Macon, GA, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. A Celebration of Life with military honors will be held Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Macon Memorial Park Chapel at 3:00 pm with Reverend Joe McDaniel officiating. The family will greet friends from 2:00 pm until service time. Interment will be held immediately following the service at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Morris was born to the late Marvin Morris and Marguerite Kaigler Morris. He was a graduate of Lanier High School in 1951. He was happily married to the love of his life, Jane Ouzts Morris, for over seventy years. Mr. Morris had an outstanding career as an industrial engineer for thirty-eight years at Robins Air Force Base. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was past President of Chi Delta Fraternity and last year he held the Oldest Distinguished Member Award. He was instrumental in starting T-ball at Macon Little League and coaching various teams. He was past President of Morgan Field Teenage Baseball League. Mr. Morris was known for his sweet, gentle, and kind spirit. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Mr. Morris is survived by his daughter, Cathy Morris Brown (David); son, Charles W. “Chuck” Morris, Jr. (fiancé Kathy); grandchildren, Doy “Dusty” Winston McElveen (Courtney), Charles W. “Jake” Morris III (Meredith), Savannah Brock, Evin Brock, Chuck Brown, Caleb Brown; great grandson, Charles W. “Arlo” Morris IV; and several nieces and nephews.
