Catherine Louise Forester Gurley, 82, passed away on Tuesday, February 2 at Brookdale Assisted Living. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 5 at 2 p.m. at Park Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Cecil Hazen officiating. The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, North Gate. Mrs. Gurley, daughter of the late Clarence Fielding and Catherine Irene Caudell Forester was born in Rabun Gap, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison Wade Gurley and her sister, Betty Pierce. Mrs. Gurley was a homemaker. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt – affectionately known as “Mama Eez” to all. Mrs. Gurley was a member of Park Memorial United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Irene Forester Sunday School Class. She was an avid golfer, a member of the Parks Pals, Wednesday morning breakfast club, and Post 3 Auxiliary of the American Legion.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Fielding (Audrey) Wade Gurley of Macon and Steven (Dona) Harrison Gurley of Macon; grandchildren, Shana Gurley (Chris) Yaughn of Macon, Tate (Nikki) Smith of Canton, GA, Stephanie Gurley (Jim) Tyner of Macon, Jonathan Gurley of Atlanta, Ashley Gurley (Wesley) Wood of Macon; great-grandchildren, Cayden Yaughn, Parker Smith, Catherine Tyner, Braxton Wood, Sadie Smith, Asher Yaughn, Britton Smith; her sister, Linda Whitehead of Macon and several nieces and nephews.
