Carol Rebecca Holloman Martin, 91, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024. The family will greet friends Monday, January 22, 2024, from 11:00am – 12:00pm at Snow’s at Macon Memorial Park. A celebration of her life will follow at 12:00pm, in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Kyle Hargrave officiating.
She was the daughter of the late Alvah Lee Holloman Sr. and Hattie Grant. Carol was the widow of Lester Lee Martin. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Williamson Rd. Macon, Ga.
Carol was a business woman. She owned “Martin’s Hairstyles” where her daughters, Karen and Becky, worked alongside her as stylists. Carol loved antique shops, flea markets, and anything vintage. She was the owner of Martin’s Consignment and Collectables and shared her love of collectables with her grandson’s Robert, Wesley, and Andrew Arnold who worked in the store. They were very talented. They built lovely furniture and other nice wood works which they sold in the shop.
Carol loved Christmas! Her sister Connie, named her Carol after the beautiful “Christmas Carols” that were sung over the holidays. She was due on December 25th, but arrived December 31, 1932 at Midnight. Carol was the baby girl of the family, 4 boys and 2 girls, all born at home. Now, all have gone home to meet our Lord.
Carol loved animals. Especially “Star”, her beloved poodle and many loveable kitty cats. The Martin’s were also a military family. Carols late husband, Lester Lee Martin was in the United States Air Force. The family traveled many places before making their home in Macon, Ga.
Survivors include her daughters, Becky Arnold (Alvin) of Macon and Karen Wiley (Randall) of Saint George, Utah; Six grandchildren, Robert Arnold (Wendy), Wesley Arnold (Jennifer), Andrew Arnold, Leigh Anne Arnold Payton (Ron), Courtney Wiley Tallman (Kevin), and Leslie Wiley Saiz (Sander); Nine great-grandchildren, Nicolas Arnold, Anna Kate Arnold, James Arnold, Brier Payton, Cameron Tallman, Ashton Tallman, Reed Tallman, Cole Tallman, and Hunter Bass; as well as many nieces and nephews.
