Betty Crapse Polk, 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, February 15, 2016. A celebration of her life will be held Friday, February 19, 2016 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. John Napoli officiating. Entombment will be private. The family will greet friends Thursday night from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home. Flowers are accepted or those who wish may make donations to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 501 Bass Rd., Macon, 31210.
Mrs. Polk was born in Estill, South Carolina to the late Elwood and Eunice Bowers Crapse and was preceded in death by her sister, Dale Mole. She was retired as a Secretary for River Edge Behavioral Health. Mrs. Polk was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and was an active Elder. She volunteered with ARC, Special Olympics, and Macon Service League, as well as several other organizations. Mrs. Polk also enjoyed reading and playing Canasta.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Polk; son, Paul Scott Polk; siblings, June Smith, Mary Payne, Jack Crapse, Paul Reeves, John (Peg) Crapse, Ben (Janie) Crapse and Annie Crapse; nieces and nephews, Danny Smith, Jodie (Ken) Carswell, Julie (Tara) Darragh and Polly (Ray) Ellington; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
