MACON – Rebecca “Betty” Anne Lance Morris, 81, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday at Central Fellowship Baptist Church with burial at Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery, Twiggs County at 3 p.m. Dr. Rodney Queen and the Rev. John C. Prettyman will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Tuesday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue and suggests that those who wish make memorial contributions to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088 or to your favorite charity.
Mrs. Morris, daughter of the late Harry Lynwood White, Sr. and Annie Bex Flynt White, was born in Forsyth and had lived in Macon since 1947. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John W. Lance and John G. Morris, Sr., by her sister, Jane Edge, her brother, Harry Lynwood White, Jr. and by her son, Terry Lance. Mrs. Morris was retired as Business Manager with Ambulatory Care of the Medical Center of Central Georgia. She was a Charter Member of Central Fellowship Baptist Church where she was also a member of the Forever Young Sunday School Class.
She is survived by the family she adored, her children, Becky (Gene) Lucas of Macon and Charles W. (Bene’) Lance of Darien; seven stepchildren; four grandchildren, Terry Church of Forest Park, Tracey Cushman of McDonough, Wesley Lance of South Carolina and Bradley Lance of Dairen; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn Lance of Macon and Obie Jones of Byron; and several nieces and nephews.
