Betty “B.J.” Hamilton Johnson, 97, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 7, 2024. A celebration of her life will be on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park with the Rev. E.Y. Stokes officiating. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
B.J. was born in Brunswick, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter S. and Pearl Moore Hamilton, her husband, Theo Duffie Johnson, her siblings, Hubert J. Hamilton, Walter C. Hamilton, Orman L. Hamilton and Joe Ross Hamilton.
She was a 1944 graduate of Glynn Academy in Brunswick, Georgia, she worked at Dixie Paint and Varnish Company for 14 years in Brunswick, Binswanger Glass Company for 7 years in Macon, and retired from Boy Scouts of American in Macon, after 24 years. B.J. was a member of Mabel White Baptist Church and the J.C. Johnson Sunday School Class and a member of the XYZ at Vineville Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Nikki (Mike) Moranville of Montgomery, TX, two grandchildren, Derek (Sharon) Kaivani and Brittany Van Dyke, three great grandchildren, Erika, Lea and Jenssen Kaivani, step-son, Joe (Glenda Ruth) Johnson of Riddleville, GA, two step grandchildren, JoLynn (Kyle) Wilkinson and TJ Yonah Johnson, one step great grandchild, Kole Wilkinson, two grandchildren by marriage, Amanda Moranville (Brad) Hartson and Blake (Tawnya) Moranville, and one bonus boy to love, Gowen Brewer.
