MACON – Barbara Nimnicht Williams, 65, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2012 at a local hospital. Memorial services and a celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at Forest Hills United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Towson and the Rev. Teresa Edwards officiating. Burial will be private. The family will meet friends from 5 – 7 p.m., Tuesday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street and suggest that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Forest Hills United Methodist Church, 1217 Forest Hill Road, Macon, GA 31210 or to the American Arthritis Association, Georgia Chapter, 2970 Peachtree Road, NW, Suite 200, Atlanta, GA 30305.
Mrs. Williams, daughter of the late Billie Nugent Nimnicht, Sr. and Barbara Browne Nimnicht, was born in Jacksonville, FL. Living in Macon most of her life, she was a graduate of Mercer University earning a Bachelor’s Degree. Mrs. Williams was secretary and treasurer of Macon Tom’s Sales, Inc. and was a member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the Junior Women’s Club, was a long standing member of the Thursday Night Bridge Group and Four Season’s Garden Club. Barbara’s grandchildren and the Florida Gators were her greatest passions. She was preceded in death by her brother, Billie N. Nimnicht, Jr.
Survivors include her beloved family, her husband, Tommy Williams of Macon; daughter and son-in-law, Missi and Nino Driussi of Jacksonville, FL; her son, Dr. John Thomas Williams, IV of Macon; six grandchildren, Caitlyn, Thomas, Taylor, Stella, Nicolas and Megan; two sisters, Liz (John) Rea of Knoxville, TN and McGee (Lonnie) Lorren of Pensacola, FL; her sister-in-law, Anne Nimnicht of Jacksonville, FL; her brother, Edward (Patty) Nimnicht, II of Jacksonville, FL; and a number of nieces and nephews.
