Annie Laurie (Lolly) Johnson Bragg

Annie Laurie (Lolly) Johnson Bragg, 87, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015. Memorial Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 682 Mulberry St, Macon on Saturday, July 11 at 11:00 am with the Reverend John Kinser officiating. Visitation will be held at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, 746 Cherry Street on Friday, July 10 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Burial will be private at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 682 Mulberry St, Macon, 31201.

Born on February 1, 1928, Mrs. Bragg was the daughter of Laura Amelia Huhn and Howard Maddox Johnson and was a life-long resident of Macon. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, William Harris (Bill) Bragg, brother Howard Huhn Johnson, grandchild Peter James Bridges and great-grandchild Braxton Davis Bragg.

Survivors include children, Michael William Bragg (Laura), Stephen Howard Bragg (Ginger) and Deidre Bragg Bridges (Kevin) all of Macon; grandchildren, Jason Christopher Bragg (Mallie) of Atlanta, Carlie Bridges Martin (Anders) of Savannah, David Patrick Bragg (Bree) of Clayton, Kyle Jonathan Bridges (Allison) of Atlanta, Laura Elizabeth Bragg of Athens, Craig Taylor Bridges (Neely) of Atlanta, Michael Stephen Bragg of Atlanta, Brittany Lynch Miller (Dan) & Bradley Scott Lynch of Macon; great-grandchildren, Carter Harris Bragg of Clayton, Asher Aron Martin & Peter Mitchell Martin of Savannah, and Lincoln Bragg Miller & Theodore David Miller of Macon. In addition, she had many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Lolly was a graduate of A.L. Miller High School and the Henry Grady School of Journalism at the University of Georgia. She was associated with radio station WBML in Macon and was affectionately known to area children as “The Story Lady”. Primarily a mother and homemaker, she was formerly a co-owner of Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Macon. She has been a life-long member of First Presbyterian Church and attended the Harris Sommerville Sunday School Class. She was active in P.E.O. Chapter I, the Macon Service League and the Macon Historical Society.
