Theodore “Teddy” Lange 67, of Climax Springs, Missouri, formerly of Machesney Park, Illinois passed away suddenly Monday October 21, 2024 due to injuries sustained from a car accident. He was born December 17th, 1956 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The son of John and Virginia Lange. Ted graduated from Harlem High School and went on to work at a few factories to later pursue his career as a sprinkler fitter. He was a member of the sprinkler fitter Union local 669. From there, he then achieved his life long dream, taking with him his father John, son Dustin, and grandson Anthony, of owning property and living off the land in Climax Springs, Missouri. Teddy loved classic rock. He played Whiter Shade of Pale on a daily basis. He also loved Elvis, The Beatles, Roy Orbison and much much more, but if it wasn't on Teddy's playlist then “it was just noise” as he would say. He enjoyed working on cars, many would say he lived his life like a race car. He had a need for speed, whether he was watching the races or in Teddy's words "putting up the wings.” Teddy loved to make people laugh. He had a heart of gold with so much love for everyone, always taking care of people or helping somebody out. He was loved by so many, and truly will be missed.
Teddy is deeply loved and missed by his children. Jeffrey (Esmerelda) Lange, Michelle (Michael Dozie) Lange, Melissa (Justin Fritz) Lange, Dustin Lange, Christopher (Amy) Winder and Emily (Ryan) Tongue; Grandchildren; DeAngelo, Hannah, Zack, Cesar, Omar, Ziomara, Anthony, Marissa, Roberto, Allyson, Mason, Cameron, Jaxon, Avason, Julian, Maddox, Adrian and many great-grandchildren; Sisters, Geri
Brancamp, Diane Lange and Rhonda Lange; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. And so many friends that he considered his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother William "A.J.”Lange.
A memorial gathering will be held from 12-3 P.M., Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a memorial service to begin at 3:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held from 4-7 p.m., at the Verdi Club, 782 N Madison St, Rockford, IL 61107.
