Patricia Ann Miller Aiello passed on to heaven on October 2, 2024. She died at OSF St. Anthony Hospital following a fall and a 5 week long battle with injuries, infection and chronic health conditions. She was born in Two Rivers, Wisconsin on March 24, 1937 to Marion and Irwin Miller. Patricia grew up in Two Rivers, Wisconsin and graduated from Washington High School in 1955. Growing up in Two Rivers, she was an active Mariner Girl Scout and remained a Girl Scout supporter all her life. At age 18, she moved from Two Rivers to Rockford, Illinois with her best friend Harriet Haberman (Bruyn) to study X-ray at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Shortly after arriving in Rockford, she met the love of her life, Sebastian Donald Aiello and they were married on September 26, 1957 in Rockford, Illinois.
After graduating from X-ray school at Rockford Memorial Hospital, Pat received her state certification, worked at Swedish American Hospital, the TB Sanitorium, headed the X-ray department at the University of Illinois School of Medicine Rockford, and worked at OSF St. Anthony Hospital and Belvidere Hospital during her 38 year career in X-ray. Following her X-ray career, she became a realtor and worked for 15 years both at Bonnie and Palmer Century 21 Reality and Gambino Realtors.
Pat was a multi-talented artist in several types of media including, painting, wood sculpting, glass etching, stained glass and sewing. During her daughter Trina’s figure skating career, Pat made all of her skating dresses, sewed many other garments for family and did beautiful embroidery and hand beadwork. Over her lifetime, she enjoyed swimming, figure skating, dancing, music, playing golf, travel, reading and crossword puzzles.
Pat believed very strongly in the importance of volunteering her time and talents to many great organizations over the years including; the Rockford Police Wives Auxiliary, Daughters of the Nile, Alabet Temple No.31, Roscoe Country Cutie Red Hats, the First Congregational Community Church of Roscoe, Eastern Star Roscoe Chapter #641 and the Society of Decorative Painters.
She is survived by her loving Husband of 67 years, Sebastian Donald Aiello, Daughters Joy Aiello McDonnell, and Anna Aiello (Dave) Grzelak, Grandchildren Megan McDonnell, Ian McDonnell, Matt McDonnell, Caiti (Jono) Smith, Jessica (Donald) Fitzgerald, Whitney Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Great Grandchildren Brody and Leah Fitzgerald, Siblings Sue Brull, Jim (Lois) Miller, Jack (Debbie) Miller, Cousin Larry (Virginia) Miller and many nieces, nephews, family and friends, her dog Peaches and bird Sam.
Pat was predeceased by her daughters, Patricia Donna Aiello and Trina Aiello Martin, Parents, Marion & Irwin Miller, Mother and Father In-law, Peter & Anna Aiello and brother in-law Robert Brull.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful caring staff of OSF St. Anthony Hospital, the amazing crew at Beloit Memorial Peritoneal Dialysis Unit, Pastor Lisa Abb, the members of First Congregational Community Church, the amazing ladies of Daughters of the Nile, Alabet Temple No. 31, the wonderful staff at Sunset Memorial Gardens and the outpouring of love and support from many friends and family members.
Arrangements have been made through Sunset Memorial Gardens to include a Celebration of Life at First Congregational Community Church in Roscoe, 10780 3rd St. Roscoe, IL 61073 with Pastor Lisa Abb officiating. Visitation at 11:00am, service at 12:00pm and a brunch to immediately follow on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Memorials in her honor to be given to First Congregational Community Church in Roscoe and the Daughters of the Nile Foundation
