Michael P. McIntyre

Michael P. McIntyre, 46, Machesney Park, passed away on November 8, 2012. He was born on December 2, 1965 to Patrick and Virginia (Krause) McIntyre in Rockford. He graduated from Boylan Catholic High School in 1983 and later from Rock Valley College.

Michael was a lifelong, accomplished musician, headlining his own band for 20 years. He also had been employed the last years as the Choir Director at Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Church.

Music was very important to Michael as was Faith and Family. He was a member of Saint Bridget Catholic Church and he was very involved in his nephew, Danny’s life. He was also devoted to his “adopted” nieces and nephew; Alexa, Axandra and Zane.

Michael is survived by his mother, Virginia; his sister, Kathleen (Jeffrey) Summers and his nephew, Daniel Summers. He is also survived by his dear friends, Susie (Phil) Smalley and their children, Alexa, Axandra, and Zane, as well as a Godmother, Caroline Frantz.

He is preceded in death by his father, Patrick and his grandparents.

There will be a funeral service at 10am on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Saint Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave, Loves Park. Father David Beauvais will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7pm on Monday, November 12, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park. A reciting of the Rosary will take place following the visitation. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
