Karen M. Casey, age 43, passed away peacefully at home, with her fiancé, Nick, by her side and dog, Gabby next to her. Karen’s life journey began on January 28, 1981 in Oscoda, Michigan, born to her parents, Joyce Casey (Seaha) and Patrick Casey, who were both in the military. Karen spent the majority of her life living in Machesney Park; was a 1999 Harlem High School graduate; participating in track, bowling, swimming, volleyball and paintball (working at her father’s paintball business from age 12-18. Karen was a 2004 college graduate of St. Francis University and Swedish American Hospital in the medical field, graduating from college “suma cum laude” with straight A’s in her field. Karen worked herself through college by working in a bank, and upon graduating, was offered a permanent position with that bank, continuing on in the banking field which she loved for so many reasons, but mainly because of her customers and co-workers. Karen was academically bright, but her sense of humor was even brighter. Karen touched so many lives in her short time here with us. Her passion for life was great, and her unwavering belief in God and hope never failed her. Her many other passions included spending time gardening, fishing at the cottage in Hayward Wisconsin, trap shooting and most of all spending time with Nick, who was a constant in her life and struggles since 2003, and her dog, Gabby. She was the purest definition of “grace” and had strong convictions and unbelievable compassion for others. Her smile was captivating along with that wonderful sense of humor.
Karen is survived by her parents, Joyce K. Casey (Seaha) and Patrick Casey of Machesney Park, fiancé, Nicholas Arduino of Machesney Park, her Uncle Tom Seaha (uncle) (Sue), Spencer Seaha (cousin), all from Connecticut, Marie Rutledge (aunt), Chris Casey (uncle), Rebecca Casey (aunt), Julie Casey (aunt) and numerous cousins.
