Julius M. Jackson, 87, of Machesney Park IL passed away June 21, 2021. He was born on April 20, 1934 in Arkansas to Vera (Hicks) and Church Jackson. Julius met the love of his life while in Arkansas, Ms. Margaret Jimmerson. The two married and went on to move to Rockford IL to start their family. They both worked at National Locke for a number of years, and he ultimately retired from SPX FLOW Hydraulic Technologies. Julius was a die-hard baseball fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He loved spending his time outdoors enjoying fresh air and nature. Julius loved everyone, he was kind and had a heart of gold. Family meant everything to him.
He is survived by wife of 67 years; Margaret Jackson, their children; Jim (Becky) Jackson, Doug (Judy) Jackson, Bruce Jackson, and Pamela Jackson, sister; Peggy (Jr.) Brooks, as well as 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
He is predeceased by his parents, and his daughter-in-law Marretta Jackson, granddaughter Courtney Paulson, as well as sisters; Jean and Dalpha, and her brother Jerry Jackson.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday June 25, at 10am at Sunset Funeral Home located at 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park IL 61115. A visitation will be held at 9am until the time of service. Burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family asks donations in honor of Julius be made to Northern IL Hospice and Alzheimers association.
