James loved his family dearly and will be missed by his mother, Elizabeth “Sue” Ellis; father, Jerry (Denise) Witt; children, Nate Ellis, Elizajayne Ellis, and Kory Ellis; former spouse, Trista Ellis; siblings, Joanne (Shawn) Hood, Rosanna Nisy, Rose Beaty-Watkins, Melinda Allen-Shain, George Witt; several step-siblings; nieces, Elizabeth Cardenas, Hailey Watkins, Ashley, and many more nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles, Renee (Keith) Barker, Melissa Barnes, Linda Witt, Rosemary Sexton, and Glen Witt; “Papa James” to Derrick (Sarah) Seago; long-time friends, Joyce Seago and George Brechlin.
A visitation for James will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Evans United Methodist Church, 7605 N 2nd St, Machesney Park, IL, followed by a funeral at 11:00 AM.
