Gary G. Henning

Gary G. Henning, 71, of Rockford, IL, passed away, Wednesday morning, September 5, 2018 at Anam Care after a short illness. Gary was born September 8, 1946 in Beloit, WI, the son of Roy "Tiny" and Elsie (Kling) Henning. He graduated from MacMurray College, and went on to serve in the United States Army. Gary married Vickie Nieman on August 31, 1968. He was the senior vice president of Northwest Bank. Gary enjoyed playing golf, and was a sports fan, whether it was following college or professional teams.

Gary is loved and missed by his wife, Vickie; son, Marc (Sharii) Henning; grandchildren, Ashlee (Clayton, Sr) Underwood; and Marc Henning Jr.; great-grandchildren, Clayton, Jr., Kahlan, and Oakley Underwood; siblings, Donna Henning, Roy Henning, Jr., Allen Henning, and Ralph Henning; father-in-law, Gerald Nieman, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Jeffrey Henning.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 24, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 North Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a visitation from 1:00 p.m., until the time of service.
