Debra Gail Stone, 58, of Roscoe, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous 10 year battle with cancer. Born April 29, 1959 in Rockford, IL. Deb had an admiration for making others feel special and spoiling her grandkids. She loved taking care of babies and then the elderly which led her to later obtain her LPN license from Nursing School. She worked as a nurse at Wesley Willows for 20 years. Deb was a super fan of The Wizard of Oz and lived every day with that Ruby slipper sparkle in her eye. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan and loved to shop. Her motto was “Life is short, buy the shoes.”
Debra is survived by her loving husband John Ed Stone; children; Julia Kay (Jim) Ryan, Mandy Kay (Jason) Crouch, John William (Monica) Stone; grandchildren, Jake Ryan, Emma Ryan, Halliway Crouch, Amelia Crouch, Maria Stone, Jack Stone, Sydney Wade; mother, Delores Ann Meyer; siblings, Terry (Diane) Meyer, Larry (Patty) Meyer, Steve (Margaret) Carlson, Doug (Corin) Carlson, Barb (Mark) Hoey, Cheryl Meyer Schock, Diane Apton, Greg (Jennifer) Meyer; sisters-in-law, Becky Meyer, Karen Meyer; several cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, aunts and uncles.
