Cheri L. Schmerse

Cheri Lynn Schmerse, 69, of Roscoe, IL, passed away on July 9, 2022. Cheri was born in Rockford IL, on July 30, 1952 to Clarabelle Ann Luhman. Cheri married Herman Robert Schmerse on November 7th 1987. Cheri’s love of family had no measure, she was the matriarch of the family. Cheri was wholeheartedly invested in the health and betterment of her sisters and brother, nieces and nephews. Cheri liked to cook, bake, sew and play her games on her computer. Cheri’s favorite times were when the family got together and she could see all the kids playing and spending time with her sisters and brother playing games. Cheri especially loved Christmas time because of the snow and her favorite movies, It’s a Wonderful Life and Miracle on 34th Street but only the original black and white version. Cheri also loved the Hallmark Channel and her crime stories.

Cheri is survived by her husband of 49 years Herman; her son Christopher (Carie); granddaughter Adrianna; brother George; sister Lisa; nephews and nieces, Paul (Stephanie), Burt (Jesus), Bart, Misty (Andrew), Daniel (Miranda), great nieces and nephews, Clara (Brandon), Benjamin, Ian, Levi, Lilly, Tiberius. Pre-deceased by Grandmother Leola Heller, Mother Clarabelle Luhman, Sister Darla Luhman.

Memorial to be held on July 13th 2022 at the family home from 4pm to 8pm if you need the address please call 815-262-9981. In lieu of flowers please make a donation toward St. Jude this was Cheri’s charity of choice.
