Bill was born on February 7, 1937 in Pineville, KY to parents Charles Thomas Moreland and Hattie Mae McGee and entered into eternal rest on September 24, 2015 at the age of 78. Bill would have been married to the love of this life, 60 years, in December. He loved his family and his church. Bill enjoyed playing with his grandchildren; telling stories, and attending church gatherings. He would save change for his daughter and would win stuffed animals out of the crane machines for her. Bill was a great gardener; he grew vegetable and flowers. He loved the outdoors; going fishing on Cedar Creek Lake. Bill was very competitive in sports and loved playing golf, tennis and baseball. He served in our military as a Seaman in The United States Navy; he was stationed in Norfolk, VA. Bill was a long haul independent truck driver. His wife enjoyed traveling with him on the open road. Bill was a faithful member of Mainstreet Pentecostal Church and had a deep personal relationship with God. He was a very caring and loving man who will be missed tremendously by those who knew and loved him.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, son James W. Moreland, grandsons; Josiah Wayne Brown and Daniel Wayne Brown, sister Helen Headden, brothers; James O. Moreland and Charles Moreland.
He is survived by his loving wife Joyce Moreland, daughter Barbara Brown and husband Daniel, son William “Bill” Moreland and wife Loretta Sue, son Cecil “Tommy” Thomas Moreland and wife Lindsey, daughter Connie Chin and husband John, son Frank Moreland, son Robert Moreland and wife Ginger, son Philip Moreland and wife Melissa “Missy”, daughter Becky Brown and husband Paul, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sister Elizabeth Mulvey, other loving family members and many more friends.
