Memorial services for Valerie Ann Martin, of Gun Barrel City, will be held Saturday, February 14, 2015, at 11am at First Baptist Church of Gun Barrel City with Rev. Byron Jones and Rev. Teddy King officiating. Valerie was born on June 10, 1943 in Borger, Texas to parents Vernon Lee Langford and Lois Ellen Nixon Langford and entered into eternal rest on January 29, 2015 at the age of 71. Valerie was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved her grandchildren dearly. Valerie was Precinct Chairman of Republican Party in Henderson County and a member of The Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She was a strong Christian and active in the church and with church activities. Valerie was much loved and will be missed dearly by those who knew her.
Valerie was preceded in death by her father, and brother Vernon Lee Langford Jr.
She is survived by her husband Dee Martin of Gun Barrel City, sons; Mike Martin of Charlotte, NC and Scott Martin and wife Wai of Phoenix, AZ, daughter Taneshia Stone and husband Ronnie of Garland, grandchildren; Traisha Martin, Chaney Miller, Davis Martin, Adam Martin, Allie Martin, Harrison Martin, Aaron Martin, Aidan Martin, Devin Stone and wife Amily, Derek Stone and Dillon Stone, her mother Lois Brister of Athens, other loving family members and many more friends.
