Thomas “Big” Hyde was born on December 14, 1996 in Athens, Texas to parents Thomas Gary Hyde, Jr. and Jayna (Watson) Hyde and entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on August 16, 2021 at the age of 24. Big was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Barbara Alsobrook Watson, aunts Shelly Hyde and Melony Mezzell, grandmother Gwen Watson, uncle Davy Watson, great-grandparents John and Betty Watson, Wynona Hyde, and EH Hyde. Big was survived by his father Tommy Hyde and significant other Amity Keller of Eustace, mother Jayna Hyde and Luke Sanders, grandparents Gary Hyde of Gun Barrel City and Sue Bricker of Mabank, David Watson of Gun Barrel City, and Linda and Leonard Owens of Mabank, Aunt and Uncle Angelya and Johnny Saine of Malakoff, aunt and uncle Fagelyn and Mikey Self of Mabank, aunt Shelly Hanson of Kemp, aunt Angie Huddle of Gun Barrel City, numerous other loving family members and countless friends.
“Big” was big in every sense of the word. He loved big, laughed big, and left even bigger impressions on the hearts of everyone that knew him. He was a protector by nature. You could count on him to welcome you with a hug, look out for you while in his presence and to leave you with a hug to remember him by. Big was a hard worker if he wasn’t working in his chosen trade as a Pipeliner in the Oil Field he was working on the farm. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing the guitar, singing, having good times with friends and laughing. You could always count on Big to have a smile on his face and a laugh on his lips. He attended Eustace High School until graduating in 2015 where he exceled in Football. As an adult he attended both Fellowship Baptist Church in Athens and First Assembly of God in Eustace. Big will truly be missed by everyone who knew him.
