James "Butch" Howard Foster Sr.

Celebration of life services for James “Butch” Howard Foster, Sr., 78, of Mabank, Texas will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank, Texas with Bro. Steve Glosup officiating. Visitation with the family will be held Friday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

James passed from this life on July 17, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 17, 1946, in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Howard H. and Fannie Kate (Hill) Hogan. He grew up in Mesquite, Texas and married the love of his life, Mary Claussen on June 9, 1984, being blessed with 40 wonderful years together. James was a very upbeat person who loved to joke and whistle while spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He raised cows, horses and had a favorite horse named “DeeDee” which he loved. During good weather, James enjoyed gardening and being outside, shooting his guns. To relax, nothing was better than kicking back with western movies and a bowl of homemade ice cream.

James is preceded in death by his father, Howard Hogan; mother, Kate Underwood; and step-father, James Underwood.

He is survived by his treasured wife, Mary Foster; sons: Steven Dennis, Aaron Foster, Jeff Foster and wife, Ester; daughter, Catherine Foster; grandchildren: Emily, Layne, Morgan, Christian, Ian, Liam, Ethan, Lillian, Miriam, Jonathan, Riley; great grandchildren: Zepplin, Motley; sister, Carol Hanie and husband, Harold; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
