Donna grew up in San Angelo, Tx where she always thought she had the coolest Dad because he was the first motorcycle officer in town. Donna was active in the FFA and at age 15, she won 1st place in the cowgirls steer riding competition and won All Around Cowgirl. She also was in the top ranks for barrel racing for years, rodeo was her passion.
As she grew up, her passions included rodeo, songwriting, singing, dancing, the Lord, family, friends, and motorcycles. Donna was a long term member of the Boozers and Boozets. She would stand proud and tall and fight for what she thought was right and wouldn’t back down from nobody. If football was on, you could bet Donna was watching the game. There wasn’t anything better than “them Cowboys” and some Dr Pepper!
Donna attended Concho Career Institute and was certified to do upholstery on furniture and automobiles. She had a big heart and loved to care for the elderly as well, so she also got certified in CPR and Sign Language. Donna worked as a caregiver for many years. She was the life of the party. Loved to sing, and for many years would be asked to sing at funerals and weddings. She also loved her motorcycles. Donna had a small collection of them, but her pride and joy was her 1941 Indian.
Donna was known to tell jokes at random times to where you thought it was something that happened she was telling you about, until she got to the end of it 5 minutes later and you were served the punch line, then…... you knew she got ya!
Donna was a member of the Christian Life Center Church in Gun Barrel City, Tx when she passed, but had changed her life back in 2003 when she was baptized at the Grace Pentecostal Church, in Hamilton, Tx. Donna was a fun loving, free spirit. She liked to keep it simple, didn’t need things fancy. You could put a dollar amount on anything but sentimental things were priceless. You could definitely call her a hippie. She loved everyone she met, and they loved her. She always wanted to make people laugh, she was all about living life. She always left you with a smile and her quote “Love you too many,” or for Miss Becky a “Peace Out!” Never a “good bye.” Her warmth and spirit will live on in everyone she knew.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Nolan and Bessie Stagner.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Lacie Fairchild, and her husband, Paul Fairchild; grandchildren; Ford Fairchild, and AllieAnn Fairchild; brother, Nolan Stagner, and sister, Sonja Williams; nieces and nephews; Stacey Thompson, Honesty Dixon, Jeremiah Williams, Josh Williams, Amanda Pangelinan, Ronnie Stagner; and the many”adopted” kids she collected along the way as she may not have had much, but would always try to help others.
Donna Jean Bailey is greatly loved and will greatly be missed.
