Donald Edwin Taylor was born September 29, 1935 in Seymour, Texas to parents Leo W. Taylor and Bertha M. (Barker) Taylor and entered eternal rest on October 22, 2019 at the age of 84. Don was a one of a kind man who loved the State Fair of Texas, especially the John Wayne Exhibit, Truck show, sky ride, getting his fair favorite turkey leg, coffee and Owen Sausage. He was a laid back, quiet man who enjoyed sitting on the porch drinking coffee, yard work, having a garden and attending every family function he could. When the kids were young he would give them half a stick of Fruit Stripes gum and take them to Griff's Restaurant in Dallas as a treat. Don's favorite color was red and he liked to collect coins particularly dimes. Don served our country in the United States Army from 1956 to 1959, He was an Electrician by trade and worked for Western Electric, Southwestern Bell and AT&T receiving awards from each of these companies.
Don is preceded in death by his parents; Leo W. and Bertha M. (Barker) Taylor.
He is survived by; daughter Charmaine Taylor-Mancuso of Mabank, daughter Cindra Windover of Albany, New York, Son Mark Taylor of Mabank, daughter Donna Taylor-Lewis of Gun Barrel City, loved like a daughter Sandra Maxon of Forney, sister Dolores Christensen of Texarkana, brother Tommy Taylor of Austin, grandsons; Crayton Taylor and Raymond Taylor of Mabank, grandsons; Brandon Windover and Justin Iwanos of Albany, New York, granddaughter; Kasey Windover of Albany, New York, grandsons; Jacob Taylor Lewis and Shawn Taylor of Gun Barrel City, granddaughters; Robyn Lewis and Linsey Taylor of Gun Barrel City, ten great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter and one great-great grandson on the way, other loving family members and many more friends.
