Charlotte Gail Blackmon was born to parents Oliver and Josephine Marie Kerry on October 24, 1956. She entered into eternal rest on September 14, 2021. Charlotte married her beloved husband, Glen Blackmon, on July 4, 1975 and they began their life's journey together, building a beautiful family and enduring love. Charlotte was a devoted wife, dedicated mother, loving grandmother, sister and aunt. Her family was the absolute most important part of her life and she lived each day making sure they all knew that. Charlotte was kind, generous and completely hilarious, Glen got to have a good laugh every day. As a member of the Chatfield United Methodist Church she was a constant figure in her church family. Charlotte was part of Methodist Women and Chatfield Bible Study Group. She could be counted on to be there for anyone in need, always ready with a smile and a hug. Charlotte was all about keeping in touch with family and friends via Facebook when she wasn't able to see them in person. In her free time Charlotte enjoyed traveling, sewing, embroidery, crossword puzzles and cooking. Her favorite pastime was anytime she could spend with her family and make memories that will last them all a lifetime.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her father, Oliver Kerry; brothers, Lynn and Buddy Kerry. She is survived by husband, Glen Blackmon Sr.; children, Glen Blackmon Jr. and wife Nicole, Derek Blackmon and wife Rachel, Deidra Osborne and husband Beau; grandchildren, Clayton, Nolan, Avery, Aubrey, Ransom and Owen; mother, Marie Kerry; sisters, Jaquetta Reynolds and husband Joe Doyle, Rebecca Moss and Belva Thornhill. Charlotte also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and lifelong friends. She was a very special lady to so many and will be truly missed by all.
The family will be receiving visitors starting at 3:00 pm on Sunday at First United Methodist Church in Mabank with services following at 4:00 pm.
