Bradley "Brad" Gordon Johnson, 43, of Malakoff, Texas, passed away on November 25, 2024, in Garland, Texas. Born on November 9, 1981, in Palestine, Texas, Brad was the beloved son of Houston "Don" Donald Johnson and Brenda Sue Nolen Johnson.
Growing up, Brad found joy in spending time on the family farm with his cousins and friends. Whether camping at his daddy's camp house, fishing at the lake, hunting, or exploring the woods, Brad had a deep connection to nature and the simple pleasures of life.
He had a remarkable talent for seeing beauty in the ordinary. An artisan at heart, Brad loved crafting and carving wood, often creating custom designs with a meditative precision. His artistry extended beyond woodworking to drawing, sketching, and even tattoo design. His hands were his tools, and his creations reflected his passion and imagination.
Brad was also a natural entertainer, known for his quick wit and love of making others laugh. As he grew older, his interests expanded to cooking, gardening, reading, and learning.
He delighted in improving his vocabulary and exploring new ideas. A lover of games, Brad enjoyed playing cards, dominos, and watching movies with family and friends.
Brad will be remembered for his creativity, humor, and indomitable spirit. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and artistry.
Brad is survived by his fiancée, Dina LeAnn Butler; his mother, Brenda Johnson; his siblings: Christopher Johnson, Dondra Long, and Corey Johnson; his many nieces and nephews; aunts; and countless cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Don Johnson, and his grandparents: Ruby and Lankster Johnson, and Carol and B.V. Springer.
A viewing will be held at 1:00 PM, followed by funeral services at 2:00 PM, on Thursday, November 5, 2024, at Living Water Family Worship Church, located at 265 Harbor Point Rd, Gun Barrel City, TX 75156.
In remembrance of Brad’s strong and peaceful spirit, we hold onto the words of John 14:27:
"I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid."
