Billie Ruth Massey passed away on June 12, 2023 in Gun Barrel City, Texas. Billie was born on May 7, 1931 in Gordon, Texas. In her past time, Billie worked as a waitress and a cook. She loved to bake and people even called her “The Pie Lady”. Her hobbies were playing cards, dominoes, crocheting, but her favorite thing of all was spending time with her family. Billie was a believer in God, religiously paid her tithe to St. Jude’s and Paralyzed Veterans. Every Sunday morning for worship she watched/listened to Brother Stanley. Billie read her Bible daily and kept it close to her heart, up to the end.
Preceded in death by her father Granvil Barron, mother Jesse Barron, sisters Laura Lee, Ruby, Lena, Audine, and Ann; brothers Preacher and Richard; her son Billy Hickson.
Billie is lovingly remembered by her children, BeLinda DeWitt, Alton Hickson, Gene Hickson, spouse Dawn; Gale Crawford, Rowena Hollaway, Johnny Hickson, spouse Vickie; Candice White, daughter-n-law Janice Hickson; and a multitude of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
A visitation for Billie will be held Monday, June 19, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Eubank Cedar Creek, 601 South 3rd Street, Mabank, Texas. A a funeral service will occur Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Eubank Cedar Creek.
Billie will be laid to rest in Baker Cemetery, 7581 Co Rd 4042, Kemp, Texas.
