On May 10th, 2016, surrounded by her closest friends and family, Priscilla was lifted graciously up and into the hands of our Lord!
She was born on December 27, 1942 in Seattle,WA to parents Jerome and Ellen (Flynn) Jacobson. Later the Family moved to Port Angeles, WA where she graduated from Port Angeles High School.
Priscilla is survived by her Husband Alf Brandal and her three Daughters. Debbie and Dale Foote, Jennifer and Bill Brindle and Angie and Ken Richardson. 5 grandchildren, Derek, Trevor, Alexandra, John-Robert and Chandler. Sisters Pam and Penny and Brothers Jerome and Dennis. She is preceded in death by both parents and her Husband Jack, her sister Patricia and her most special son , J.R.!
Priscilla earned her Associates of technical arts degree in Fashion merchandising at Edmonds Community College. Interior Design was her passion and with her business Partner and friend, Linda Stevenson, they started Pris n Lindy's Home Design. Their first store was located at Country Village in Bothell.
Decorating people's homes and bringing joy to their Holiday celebrations and special occasion was her favorite. She understood her clients interests and needs and would always strive to bring together a beautiful scene no matter what the season.
She was a past president of the local chapter of AFS (American Foreign Service) Intercultural Program. Instrumental in placing students from abroad with local families and connecting local students with foreign families. We had a student from Portugal and her own daughter was able to study in Sweden.
Priscilla loved sports. She coached her daughter Debbie's softball team, and her grandsons football games,(from up in the stands). An avid Seahawks fan as well, Priscilla enjoyed watching the games with her family. Her other hobbies included gardening, sewing and when she was younger, horseback riding and downhill skiing! As a family we would all go up to Stevens Pass for the whole day with other family and learn to ski.
In 1990 she had the opportunity to travel to Russia for a design expo with her business partner Linda. She also was able to bring bibles in to the churches when bibles were not allowed in by the Soviet Government, and visited orphanages. She was very honored to be invited to attend.
Priscilla was a loving wife, mother, friend and doting Grandmother!
Missing any of the grandchildren's dance recitals, choir concerts, soccer, track meets or football games was unheard of. Even if it meant traveling across the state!
Her friends would revel in her warm hugs, bright eyes and beautiful smile. Always seeking her advice on family or biblical scripture.
Her faith was prominent in all aspects of her life and she constantly sought the scripture for new insights to bestow with those in earshot! Daily she would talk with her children and grandchildren and ask how she could pray for them.
Priscilla felt most at peace with her church family. She was involved with multiple churches in her community at any one time.
Whether it be the one that fed her spiritually or one in which she would mentor others, her heart lived her passion. "Jesus Christ". She would share Gods word with others at the monthly church gatherings in her home!
Often volunteering her time and energy when needed. This was important and a core belief of hers of giving back. She would financially support local and worldwide ministries and continued to do this throughout her life.
Priscilla loved entertaining and throwing parties for friends and fellow church family. She truly had the gift of Hospitality! Everyone was always welcome anytime!
When she threw a dinner party it would have a theme with lots of delicious food and made for a wonderful experience for all that would attend.
A celebration of Priscilla's life will be held on June 4th at Westgate Chapel in Edmonds,WA in Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Heart Ministries at Westgate Chapel. A ministry that her and her husband Alf dearly supported.
