Michael, Mike, Coach, Dad, friend, however you knew him, you were glad you did. Michael Kruczynski was an amazing human being. He loved to make people laugh. He loved to stir up trouble. He went after life and never gave up. Even when his body was betraying him, he still had a positive outlook and somehow managed to make everyone around him feel ok.
Beyond a quick wit, a spirit for competition, and a love of Star Wars, Michael was known for having a big heart. He selflessly championed, coached, supported, and mentored those around him. He pushed us to be our best selves, to not give up when things got hard, and of course, to laugh whenever possible.
Michael loved to travel, he loved working in the airline industry, he loved playing baseball, rooting for the Red Sox, ‘Guys Golf Weekend’ and of course watching the Patriots with his daughter. He rarely demanded much from life. A cold beer, a thick steak, and a competitive sports match, he was content to simply be surrounded by the people he loved.
He will live on in the people who knew him, thru memories and favorite stories, shared with laughter, reverence and gratefulness for everything he gave us. For every shared joke, and every closely held secret. For every time he showed up for us with a smile and a supportive cheer. For the many (many, many) shared beers and all the pep talks in between. We thank you, Mike, for all you have given us. We were lucky to share this life with you, even if you left it too soon. You’re absence will be felt as deeply as your presence. We’ll keep an eye on the Patriots for ya. Save a cold one for us on the other side.
On Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 5:22am, Michael lost his 5 year battle with cancer. He is pre-deceased by his mother, Rosemary. Survived by his wife, Lisa, daughter, Katherine, father and step-mother, Rich and Julie, brother, Ricky, and an amazing and loving circle of extended family and friends that reaches literally from one side of the country to the other.
Per Michael’s specific instructions, formal services will not be held. A series of happy hours will be planned in the upcoming months, in Bellevue, WA, Dallas, TX and Worcester, MA.
Michael graduated St. John’s High School in 1990, assisted by scholarship. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Maryland School of Business. He was so proud to be able to pay that privilege forward by establishing his own scholarship for two bright, motivated young men who would not otherwise have had the opportunity to attend private school.
In Michael's memory, (and in lieu of flowers) we would like to invite you to donate to the
